to Z of Spanish Cinema

The A to Z of Spanish Cinema provides a better understanding of the role Spanish cinema has played in film history through a chronology, an introductory essay, a bibliography, and hundreds of cross-referenced dictionary entries on producers, directors, film companies, actors, and films.

Dr Alberto Mira has taught courses on stardom, film style and musical theatre. Author of about 15 volumes as well as 40 articles and chapters in academic books on such topics as Pedro Almodóvar, Jane Fonda, LGTBIQ literature and history, and musicals. Author of Historical Dictionary of Spanish Cinema (Wiley) and The Pop Musical: Sweat, Tears and Tarnished Utopias (CUP) as well as El Teatro musical de Stephen Sondheim (Akal, 2024).
