The Creation of the Self and Language

This book develops models and hypotheses about the mechanisms of the origin of language and the self. It offers a highly original discussion of language acquisition in relation to Freud's paper on aphasia. The book is useful for psychiatrists, teachers, social workers, and parents.

David Rosenfeld was trained in Buenos Aires. He lived and studied in Paris and London and also in the United States. He is a Consultant Professor at Buenos Aires University, Faculty of Medicine, in the Department of Mental Health and Psychiatry; a Training Analyst of the Buenos Aires Psychoanalytic Society; and an Ex-Vice President of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA)
