He loved to look closely at ordinary things-a splash of water, a winding road, a friend's face-and find new ways to capture them through art. His curiosity, creativity, and willingness to experiment helped him become one of the most influential artists of the modern era. Featuring vibrant artwork and engaging storytelling, To See Clearly: A Portrait of David Hockney introduces young readers to the life and work of an artist known for his bold colors, inventive perspectives, and joyful approach to seeing. Readers will learn how Hockney explored painting, drawing, photography, and new technologies while always encouraging people to slow down, observe carefully, and appreciate the world around them.
