21st Century Parables: A FPFL Collection

Six short stories, rooted in the modern day, that (may) have something insightful to say about the very strange times we live in. The stories are:- 4 Beers for My Uncle: Uncle Keoni spent his younger days making nature documentaries around the globe. Johnny has heard most of his stories a thousand times, but, today, his Uncle seems ready to tell some that are a little less...family friendly. - Mall Rats: A group of pre-teen pranksters with smart phones and very little empathy run afoul of a red-blooded mall security guard who has reached the end of his rope. What could possibly go wrong?- Carry-On: Sara has to take a Greyhound bus home. To her horror, she realizes she forgot to charge her phone. What is she going to with all the free time and nothing to distract her!- Runner-Up: We all know there is big money to be won on reality television. But what about the folks that came close? That almost their lives forever? What happens to them?- Late Shift: Scotty has a shitty job at the gas-station and it's only getting shittier. Now that he has a full-moon to deal with, all the crazies are out and he's got no back-up at all...- Birthday Baka: What's worse than having to go to your boss' party on the weekend? Showing up late!

Ford Philips was born in the North East, raised down South and currently resides on the West Coast. His goal is to write modern genre fiction and pulps (whatever that means) and to create fiction for the type of reader who loves adventure, character-focused stories and generally weird fiction.
