Beschreibung

Companies across all industries face daily operational challenges that impact their competitiveness. Industrial Engineering offers dynamic solutions through diverse concepts, methods, and tools designed to solve problems, streamline processes, and improve quality across sectors. This handbook presents current industrial engineering knowledge organized into six key sections: Fundamentals of Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Quality Management Systems, Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement, Advanced Technologies and Digitalization, and Sustainability and Environmental Considerations. Handbook of Industrial Engineering: Concepts, Tools, Case Studies, and Applications discusses a range of quality control methods and tools, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages and outlining the steps for successful implementation. It also covers the impact of logistics methods and tools on improving performance. In addition, it explores ergonomics methods and tools, covering both physical and cognitive aspects, and showcases their benefits and drawbacks through real-world case studies. The handbook also presents lean manufacturing techniques such as Six Sigma and Industry 4.0, offering a focus on their methodologies and tools. This comprehensive handbook is tailored for practicing engineers, students, and consultants engaged in the field of Industrial Engineering, with a focus on quality, logistics, ergonomics, lean manufacturing, product design, and supply chain concepts, tools, case studies, and applications.
