Janice Hallett estudió Literatura Inglesa en la University College de Londres y trabajó durante muchos años como editora de revistas, una labor que le granjeó dos premios de periodismo. También ha trabajado en comunicación gubernamental para instituciones de Reino Unido como el Ministerio del Gobierno, el Ministerio del Interior y el Departamento para el Desarrollo Internacional.
