Chaud comme la mort

Exceptionally hot weather is stifling Paris but the heat-wave killer is not taking any vacation! Three young black women are already dead, all three asphyxiated with a plastic bag and raped post mortem, all in the same area, the fourteenth arrondissement of Paris. The tension is palpable among Commissioner Mattei's cops and panic is setting in among the local population. That same summer, Evelyne Mattos, age 60, decides to leave her job at a funeral parlour, where she has been working for years. Shortly thereafter her husband dies and she finds herself faced with a dim future as a semi-retired widow. Evelyne is neither young nor black but she lives in the ?triangle of death? and that is enough to get herself caught up in the heart of torment.
