Beschreibung

THE ROMAN ALPHABET has been preserved unchanged to this day in the capital letters of our Latin alphabet. Using the science of Latin inscription studies, the author demonstrates that the script has always been guided solely by the calligrapher's sense of form and never by a rigid geometric rule. Based on these findings, a drawing system is presented that adapts to the different forms and proportions of the Roman alphabet. Each letter is drawn in detail. Detailed instructions allow for reconstruction in any size. Numerous illustrations of beautiful Roman inscriptions served as models.
