This is one of the first texts to examine the influential writer al-Ghazali's (1058-1111) interpretations of the Qur'an. The book explores not only particular interpretations, but also his hermeneutical methods, shedding light on both how an important Muslim thinker justifies his views and why he does so in the way he does.
