Beschreibung

'A modern feminist classic' Observer 'Brilliant' Guardian Who gets to be heard in public? Who gets to lead? And why are women still so often told to just 'shut up'? In this groundbreaking modern classic, Mary Beard draws on examples from antiquity to contemporary politics to expose the enduring roots of misogyny. She asks one deceptively simple question: would power look different if women truly had it? Ten years on from #MeToo, as hard-won gains come under renewed pressure around the globe and women continue their fight for freedom, justice and representation, Beard's manifesto is still urgent. She invites us to question not just who gets a seat at the table - but how to upend the furniture itself.
