Theodore Roosevelt explores the personal and political life of the 26th President of the U.S.A. It focuses on his 'manliness', a gendered framework of traits for the Gilded Age and Progressive Period guiding him and other men in business, politics and war, and shows how they transformed Roosevelt's personal and political decisions.

Neil H. Cogan is Professor at Whitter College, USA, and teaches courses in history, law, and political science. As a practicing lawyer, he specializes in racial, ethnic, and gender discrimination cases, as well as free speech.
