This novel portrays the daily life of the Aida family, consisting of two stepsiblings who lost their parents in an accident and now live together. Although they consider themselves family and care for one another, they struggle to express their feelings. The balance between Yoichi's carefree nature and Yukari's stubbornness allows them to get along well. It is striking how Yukari, despite being in junior high school, handles household chores with efficiency and responsibility. Even though this life won't last forever, both try to cherish the time they share. Ten years ago, Yoichi's mother and Yukari's father married, making them stepsiblings. Five years later, both parents passed away. Yukari, 14, cooks using her stepmother's recipes, while Yoichi, 25, works to support the household; they rely on each other in their daily lives. One day, a cat appears in the garden, and they decide to look for its potential owner.
